As some of you know, I have been in the slow process of redecorating my apartment but have often felt disheartened about the size of my apartment (which is not actually that small by Stockholm standards). These pictures from the lovely home of Josepfine Hååg at 20kvadrat remind us that we can have a beautifully styled home in a small living area. I love the flashes of nude and grey and the photo wall, not to mention extremely envious of the grey artek stools.

Hope you guys are also inspired to make small living spaces work!!!

Several months ago, the owner and founder of my favourite interior stores, Artilleriet, put his apartment in Stockholm on the market, and shortly thereafter, the internet was flooded with pictures of his inspiring and eclectic home. Apologies if you have already seen these pictures but I just really wanted to share them with you guys. My favourite items are the Batwing chair, the Thornet chairs, and the David Ehrenstråhle guide to Bombay (Print). I especially love all carefully placed quirky little details.

What are your favourite details about this apartment?

Home additions: linen and ladders

Investing in homewares can feel like a neverending job. Although it is difficult (and we are guilty of buying plenty of junk!) proper investment in just a few things will make all the difference to your home/room. Today we are dreaming of these french flax linen sheets and this accessories ladder. Although, not everything has to be expensive, these cushions are currently on sale for $19.95 (may have just purchased 2 of them…) and A Merry Mishap has a great post on a DIY ladder.

Lazy Sunday in Stockholm

Having a relaxing sunday with blankets, woolen socks and lots of tea. Probably one of my favourite things to do on a sunday. What is your favourite thing to do on a sunday? 🙂

Chair: Tapiovaara (found a few of these old finnish design chairs in my fiancé’s country cottage and refurbished them)

Blanket: Klippan

I have been a great fan of interior stylist Lotta Agaton, for some some time, and she has worked her magic yet again for the latest string campaign. These pictures just make me feel of a white swedish winter (which has just arrived in Stockholm this weekend!) Hope you are all having a wonderful sunday wherever you are.

On our mind for January

January listIf you guys are like me and are working on a limited budget this month (after christmas, new years, holiday celebrations), you are probably not looking to spend a great deal of money this month. I have therefore assembled a short list of what we have on our mind this month – practical and/or inexpensive items that will help you feel inspired, feel good, or get organised!

Baskets

I dont really know why but I have this thing for baskets. They just have the effect of making things appear more cozy and organised. I have searched long and hard for the perfect basket and this one from Hviit is my absolute favourite.

Finding the perfect organiser

It is high time that I bought an organiser to plan the exciting year that is 2014. For the last six years I have been using the black Moleskine weekly diary but this year I am thinking about changing it up. In love with this diary from Marjolein Delhaas.

DIY books

This year I will be involved with more DIY projects, particularly for the home. I am currently loving DIY books which can inspire me in this mission. Just waiting for this book by Susanna Vento & Riikka Kantinkoski, to be published in Swedish or English (it is currently only available in Finnish).

Rosehip oil

Ordinarily, my skin suffers greatly during winter time but this winter, since I have been slathering rosehip oil on my face every night before I go to bed, my skin is much more refreshed and hydrated. I can definitely recommend it! I have yet to try Kora’s rosehip oil, but I have heard great things about it.

Flea market/thrift shop finds

Unfortunately Stockholm has a shortage of flea markets at this time of  the year, but I this month you will find me scouring second-hand stores for unique finds for my apartment. I visited an amazing flea market in Copenhagen in November and picked up some amazing finds including this vintage brass magazine stand for only 50 Danish Kronor.

Running

Every year I make a resolution to get my running shoes out and get moving again. A new pair of nikes, a new running playlist, great head phones and a running buddy always helps me get motivated. Running has becoming increasingly fashionable in Stockholm the past year. Why not invest in beautiful, minimal running gear (like the perfect pair of nikes) that can fit in seamlessly into your everyday wardrobe.
