The Wedding

So it has been a really long time since we posted and I really hope we still have some of our old readers with us but it has been a crazy few months. I got married in July to the love of my life and it was by far the happiest day of my life and just the most perfect day in every possible way. Friends and family traveled from Australia, the US, the UK, Germany Denmark and from other parts of Sweden. Above is a sneak-peak of the big day.

We got married at Carlshällsgård, a fantastic location in Långholmen, Södermalm in Stockholm. My dress is from Theysken’s Theory and the groom’s suit is from J-Lindberg. All the flowers arrangements were created by the lovely Therese at Kaprifol (on Hornsgatan).

I hope you have all had a really lovely summer break (or winter if you are in the southern hemisphere).

Dinner: kale and quinoa pilaf

Kale quinoa

Source: Food 52

I always try and have quinoa in my cupboard since it goes with so many different things and is great for lunch or dinner. Today I had some leftover kale so this recipe seemed perfect, the pilaf is healthy and really easy to make for a Sunday evening. If you start googling ‘walnut oil substitute’ as I did, read all about it here. I used olive oil, but next time (when it isn’t so late on a Sunday that I am contemplating toast as an acceptable kind of dinner) I will definitely be trying it with the walnut oil, as it will be even more delicious.

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 1 bunch lacinato kale, washed and chopped into 1″ lengths
  • 1 meyer lemon, zested and juiced
  • 2 scallions, minced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted walnut oil
  • 3 tablespoons toasted pine nuts
  • 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese

Currently dreaming of…

roll back knot

Turtlenecks! This black one from Witchery with an open back is top of our list. Although, American Apparel has one here for the same price that is much more classic and practical (i.e. without a huge gaping part in the back…)

Which one to pick?

pictures from: 20kvadrat

As some of you know, I have been in the slow process of redecorating my apartment but have often felt disheartened about the size of my apartment (which is not actually that small by Stockholm standards). These pictures from the lovely home of Josepfine Hååg at 20kvadrat remind us that we can have a beautifully styled home in a small living area. I love the flashes of nude and grey and the photo wall, not to mention extremely envious of the grey artek stools.

Hope you guys are also inspired to make small living spaces work!!!

On our mind for February

Feb wishlistSo I have a been a little bit slow on the blog-posting front this month due to all the things that life has thrown me (including a new dog) so here is a slightly late wishlist for february. This month there is a stronger focus on essential wardrobe basics, which I can never get enough of. I have not started thinking about my wishlist for spring, so these items are items that I would love to wear and use now.

1. Delicate gold jewelry

I generally do not wear a whole lot of jewelry and often try to steer clear of gold as it can look a bit funny with my tan skin but I totally fell for these beautiful and delicate pieces designed by Lara Melchior for & other stories.

2. The perfect minimal silk camisole

Every girl should have a great black or white camisole in their wardrobe. Looks great paired with jeans, or for a more dressed up look with a black loose-fitted blazer (what I wore for valentines dinner last night). My all time favourite camisole is from Tibi but I have found a beautiful budget option with lace details from Monki (this one looks prettier in real life, I promise).

3. A new scent

I have to admit that I am one of those girls who buys one type of perfume and uses it almost every other day (Chloé by Chloé, in my case). However, I am looking to change it up this month and I am contemplating Rose Noir by Byredo. Byredo also makes beautiful leather perfume cases which I am currently pining for.

4. The perfect black shoulder bag

Although I could probably carry my black tote bag around every day I am still on the quest for the perfect black shoulder bag for evenings and those occasions when you just dont need much with you… This one from COS is my curent favourite.

5. The perfect boyfriend jeans

Since I have been wearing tight fitting black jeans/pants almost every day this winter, I am really longing for a lighter more relaxed option. The best boyfriend jeans, in my opinion are POP from Acne Studios.

6.  Versatile black ankle boots

My acne pistols have seen better days so really need to buy a new pair of black boots. I am particularly picky when it comes to this because black ankle boots are my most worn staple so they have to be both versatile and comfortable. What do you guys think of these boots?

7. Grey cashmere scarf

I am a sucker for a cashmere scarf, so much so that I have probably over-worn my black cashmere scarf this winter. Desperately need this Grey canada scarf from ACNE but they are sold out in this colour!

What is your favourite item? and which items do you think I should get?

Breakfast: DIY granola

Granola is on just about every breakfast menu yet is so easy to make you never need to buy it again! Foodie Underground has a great recipe, but it can be added to or modified in any way you like, depending on how you fancy your granola. Although the initial outlay will be a little expensive…it will make so much granola it is definitely worth it (plus have less sugar than most of the other ‘healthy’ stuff out there…)

If you make just one thing this week….it should absolutely be this. Enjoy!

3 cups old-fashioned oats
3/4 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/3 cup honey
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon cardamom
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup dried fruit
